Of course, it wouldn't be necessary for the Secy. of Defense to actually deny any funding - threatening would probably generate enough publicity to force ROTC onto the campus. Such a move would be quite bold, given Columbia's relationship with former US President Eisenhower. I imagine it's unlikely, but it would be really sad for this to become increasingly politicized.
