		<description>Totally interesting!  Columbia is a prestigious university, and no doubt it has a rather symbiotic role with elements in the US federal Government.  Of course, it wouldn&#039;t be necessary for the Secy. of Defense to actually deny any funding - threatening would probably generate enough publicity to force ROTC onto the campus.

Such a move would be quite bold, given Columbia&#039;s relationship with former US President Eisenhower.  I imagine it&#039;s unlikely, but it would be really sad for this to become increasingly politicized.</description>
