Unread FA (Need to R)
Quick announcement: I (farkinga) have added a new extra-special category called “Unread FA.” Every so often, I want to save an article to read later, and RTFA has great tools for grabbing the URL. However, there’s this implicit promise that we won’t post anything we haven’t read, and for the most part, I think we really stick to it. What to do, what to do…
Well, here’s what I propose. At the very bottom of the sidebar, you’ll notice a section titled Unread FA. These are only posts that are in the “Unread” category; such posts won’t show up on the main page or with the recent posts. If an unread post becomes really popular, you might find it under the “popular posts this week” section, but don’t count on it.
For the editors, you can use this new feature by simply adding your unread post to the “00 Unread” category in the editor. Before you do so, make sure to click on the “suggest tags” button so we can index it later.
It’s a four-click process: 1) click RTFA button, 2) suggest tags, 3) add to Unread category, 4) publish.
…and for the readers, well, you might get a glimpse of some raw and unfiltered news we sort through!
