YouTube – You’re Going To Destroy A Worldwide Economy! Ron Paul

Dr. Ron Paul, on September 29 2008, speaks to the House for two minutes.

In case you didn’t know, Dr. Paul opposes almost ALL forms of government interference, but in this speech, he demands regulation of the Federal Reserve (the Fed) and other financial entities. This isn’t a reversal of his policy – he has always taken issue with the Federal Reserve – but he attributes the current financial crisis to the actions of the Fed, and points out that we can’t give more money to the very institutions that created this mess.

Ultimately, he predicts the collapse of the US Dollar. …and on that note, I’d like to reference the North American currency union.

According to newly released FEC reports, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has received more military donations than the other three remaining Republican candidates combined.
“The latest numbers make it clear: the troops support Ron Paul,” said Ron Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Dr. Paul has worked his entire career working for veterans, and has many awards and endorsements due to his dedication to their cause.”
A search of the FEC database by employer reveals that Dr. Paul has received 1160 donations from military donors, nearly triple that of John McCain, and more than McCain, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee combined.
Dr. Paul’s total military donations of $249 thousand are almost as much as the $260 thousand of combined donations received by the other five remaining candidates.

Kent Snyder and Jonathan Bydlak of the Ron Paul 2008 campaign report on 3rd quarter fundraising numbers for the Republican candidates. They show there are three candidates well-poised financially for a serious run for the GOP nomination. For more information, see

This shit is fantastic: a comparison of the Republican candidates, as seen by their campaign finances. It’s worth watching, but the short of it is: Rudy, Thompson, and Ron Paul have a real shot. This is to say that only three candidates have raised enough donations to have money to spend on the primaries.

Romney is millions of dollars in debt over his campaign. McCain is bankrupt, but if he can get a loan, he could stay in the fight. Ron Paul proves he can responsibly manage his campaign for the nomination.

Editorial: I sortof feel sorry for McCain. Romney … well, he’s a rich Mormon missionary, but one with a history of business success.

YouTube – Ron Paul on the Internet and Freedom

Ron Paul takes a moment to talk about the Internet. I depend on the Internet for day-to-day tasks, and all of my peers do too. I hope that Ron Paul doesn’t oppose any form of net neutrality regulation. It’s possible that collusion needs to be actively prevented – I’m not sure US utilities companies have proven that they can responsibly deliver the best service at the best rates.

On the one hand, I strongly support a separation of Internet and Government. On the other hand, I do think the Internet must be tended and cultivated. The ultimate fear is FCC-style regulations that limit the ability of individuals to publish online.
